I think it's sad that they only upped the HP by 10HP...They are starting to go NSX-S2000 on the GTI.

I mean come on how hard could it be to add 30-40HP from that 2.0T engine?
Don't be concerned with the stock power ratings. Most stock 2.0t dynos I've seen are between 185-195 whp, so it's a bit more stout than advertised. It's a great motor.

The GTIs I've driven sure as hell don't feel like 195WHP...

The typical range is 185-195whp. What does 195whp in a 3100lb car feel like anyway? Certainly not like a 2800lb car with 210whp..

some have dynoed 200WHP stock, but probably on a dynojet. either way the car definitely makes 210+ BHP whether they rate it as such or not.

I just love car forums, especially with FWD hot hatches;

Everyone on the Mazdaspeed 3 or Cobalt SS: "260 horsepower is too much for a FWD car, thats gonna torque steer"

and now on the GTI "200 horsepower just isn't enough"

I for one 'think' a FWD car should have exactly 233.8 bhp because its a good mix of torque steering and power

http://www.motortrend.com/roadtests/hatchb...test/specs.html

The mkvi runs 0-60 in 5.8 and the 1/4 in 14.5. Might not have that much hp but I wouldn't exactly call that slow.

Yes, and with a tune I'm sure they'll pull on an S2000 and have a much nicer power band for daily driving.

I didn't say it needs 300HP, I just said a 10HP increase over a span of 4 years is kind of low, especially on a heavy car like the GTI.

Anyways FWD sucks
