Now keep in mind that I've been a defender of the stangs, most notably the 05+ on these boards, so by no means am I a anti domestic whatever.
I recently strolled through a ford dealer to take a look at them and found that the average stang gt was in the low 30s, all the way up to just about 40K. That's a lot of dough for a mustang. My comment is stemmed from the fact that the car is now firmly in Z territory and possibly the bmw 135i. Before a fully loaded stang gt was abotu the price of a base Z, now they're almost tit for tat. And I recently took the new 370z out for a stroll and the interior really impressed me, looked top notch, and the stang's interior is quite nice, but man, 35K for a mustang gt? I remember the 05-09 stang premium would come in just unde 30k with just about all the boxes ticked. Granted the interior of the 2010 is nicer, but that much nicer?
Good value yes, bargain not so much anymore, and that was sorta the appeal to me for the mustang. Now I won't be so lax on my judegment of the car since the pricing is just about there.
If I needed the back seat l'd likely go with the Mustang. If not, then the 370 looks pretty good.

Why would they give you one with such low miles? That's nuts.

I guess I'm not understanding why a competitively priced Mustang is somehow out of line.

Ford Fusion was just named C & D car of the year by the way.

I take delivery of my 2010 Fusion company car next month. The company was nice enough to add moon roof, hands free blue tooth and the Sync audio system for us

but nice car
Nope. 5spd.

I dont abuse cars that do not belong to me and they know it. I was told the OTD price on the car would be much less than the sticker.

It has the rear axle
Was it supposed to be axle-less?

I think the value portion of the Mustang will kick in if they release the new engines without a subsequent uptick in the prices.

Agreed, don't get me wrong, I still think the stang is a great car, still a value, and when teh coyote v8 comes out it may even be a bargain again. I've been saying for I dunno how long on these boards that the stangs are great cars.
But one thing I've always taken into consideration was its price when comparing it to its supposed rivals, and now that advantage is starting to go away.
Great car though, looks a lot better in person too.

The re-skin for 2010 is definitely It'll be fantastic is the "Coyote" V8 winds up making it in the car. Most of the comparison reviews I've read (Challenger/Camaro/Mustang) say the Mustang is the best driving/handling car of the three. Take that solid axle haters

I used to have an '02 GT and I had a blast with that car, still miss it.

Nice...I like the Stang more and more. But I always had a negative perception about its interior. It looks decidedly more upmarket. Imagine however what it would sell for if it had an independent rear suspension.
