Why mod a brand new Fit?

Should of bought a used 2007 Civic SI Sedan with an extended Honda warranty instead for the same price if you wanted a car that looks-handles-performs better...
same can be said about S2000, M3, and any other cars out there. What is the point?

If the new fit had two doors and about 7 inches shorter, it would be PERFECT.

A brand new Fit is about the same price as a CPO 2007 Civic Si. However, the Civic Si has more power than the Fit ever will, has a full warranty (the Fit will lose its warranty when modded moderately), and is a better performer in general. It also has more interior room, will probably deal with a crash better, etc, etc.

The S2000, of the showroom floor, will handle with 95% of the cars out there and is only really let down in a straight line. It's still plenty quick, though.

The Fit has no such comparable performance off the showroom floor, so it's not a suitable analogy.

have you driven both?

either car is not really idealistic for performance cars. you buy one or other for different reason.

granted that I would buy civic FD type r over any of these cars, maybe even S2K.

I am thinking about buying it here in japan.

I still have the S and my bike, no need for another fast vehicle. I bought the fit because of it's quirky looks, huge windows and interior (relatively) and because it's new as opposed to pre-owned.

Si's are more expensive to mod, plus i'm looking to mod it differently, the S will be for hp/track as my bike, but the Fit I just want to make a JDM cruiser.

Driven them all. The Si has a lot more potential and is quite a bit more potent off the showroom floor.

Not a used CPO 2007. They're readily available in the $16K-$18K range.
