we haven't got a 09 Si yet here at my dealership, can't wait though it looks good
Wow! That comes as a great shock, Chicagoland dealerships have had them for months.

To be fair, the Si is quite a bit cheaper than the MS3 or even the SS (by about $3K, minimum). It's not as quick but it's still a blast to drive. You just won't win any drag races...or track events.
Agreed. Granted you could probably talk down an ss to si levels. Great thing about the si is that you could basically treat it like a regular civic minus the prem gas and beat up on it like one. As well built the ss and ms3 are, I doubt the ownership experience will be as brainless as owning a civic. Torque= wear on drivetrain components. As much as I like the cobalt ss, I'd be hard pressed to choose it over the si for the simple reason that if I wanted a 300hp+ car, I wouldn't want it to be fwd, just my preference.

one thing that always got me when I worked at the dealership is that people would buy a car that had dealer installed rims and the rims and tires would cost 1,200 -2,000 in most cases.

OK, let's pretend they are worth that much. they were paying that on top of what they were buying the car for. Anyone see the obvious problem here?

I'll let you guess before I tell you. lol.

They should be getting their stock rims too then...

There are so many more desirable cars at the 09 Si price range to buy. Honda isnt even competitive anymore in that segment. :-( I'd take a stripper Cobalt SS or Mazdaspeed 3 anyday.
It depends on what your priorities are. I didn't want anything as hard core as a cobalt SS or an MS3 and I wanted something reliable for a DD. It's also nice to know my car won't depreciate like a rock. Though I still wanted a car that was fun to throw around for a little over $20,000. I could have spent more, but I didn't want to when the Si is such a great car for its price. The gearing on the Si is even lower than my S2000's so it's easy to accelerate plenty fast for what I need in a daily driver and it's still tons of fun on exit ramps and going around corners. The ride isn't bad, I am averaging about 30 MPG, and it's pretty quiet on the highway. I'm very happy with my Si.

I'm not saying I hate the Si. My younger brother/roommate has an 2007 Si/ Navi. I've had thousands of miles of seat time. I'm just saying it makes me wanting something a bit more in the power department. I like the interior and the shift action is top-notch. They could've made the car quicker. Mark my words on this one, Honda is going to have to turn up the notch on this one.

^ Honda ain't turning up shite. In fact, they're being as conservative as ever, and going to conservative family cars and alternative fuel cars. This economy got them scared.

I drove a 08 recently and it was great. If I could go back in time I would've done a civic instead of a s2k.
