2009 370Z!
"but the car will weigh some 200 lb. less, tipping the scales at about 3010 lb.
What this means is the new Z will be a rocket. A reliable source in Japan has told us it will be powered by a 3.7-liter V-6, the same engine used in the Infiniti G37 coupe, with output bumped to 350 bhp at 6500 rpm and torque to about 280 lb.-ft. at 4500. This new power-to-weight ratio for the "370Z" will allow the car to reach 60 mph in less than 5.0 seconds, and should give the Porsche Cayman S a run for its money around any racetrack.

Honestly, that was my wishlist for the car.
Considerably more power, considerably less weight. This may compete with the C6 in the bang/but category.
That's better p/w than a C5, better than an M3, or C63...
IMO 12.6-13.0 @108-112
I could see traps upwards of 114 if they nail the gearing.
Quantum leap forward for affordable sportscars, particularly japanese. I don't think there's anything sub 40 that will be able to play with it.
I wanted to see a legit C6 fighter in the bang for the buck category, and I think they nailed it. Honestly, based on the numbers, it should be fairly close in terms of overall performance, at least to an LS2 car. I could see it keeping up with an LS3 car until 80. If it tends towards the upper range of what would realistically be possible with that power/weight, it could be a virtual dead heat until 110-120. We've seen 114 trap speeds from M3s and C63s, that's within spitting distance of what LS3 cars run. The fastest I've seen from an LS3 is 116 and the lowest is 113.
Don't think the Nissan will be quite as quick, but getting it close enough that it could be considered a driver's race is a real possibility.

I guess that is real then. I saw the picture somewhere else and just assumed it was a baddly done photoshop with the intention of TRYING to make the car ugly..
That said, the info about loosing weight and gaining more power was released awhile back ago and I'm glad to hear that it was true(weight part that is as I had my doubts!). I believe the wheelbase is also supposed to be shorter. Now, hopefully the car will be more thrilling to drive compared to the 350z which felt like a giant GT car that for some reason just didn't have the fun factor a car of it's weight/power/stature should have had.
