Where's the Edsel grille? That came and went pretty quickly...

Nuts. What is this world coming to?
Its just the general trend of hp going up. I'm expecting Accords and Camrys to hit 400bhp by the time I get old (only 22 now). Its gonna happen sooner or later. Each manufacturer always one ups the other. I'm sure someday people will look at 200-300hp as nothing

Thats the fault of our system. A license is too easy to obtain. Our testing needs to be much harder. So until accidents go down, speed limits can't go up. Newer cars are definitely capable of handling higher speeds but people are not. Also, our roads aren't the best either.

Sorry, but let me get this straight:

You're wishing that the speed limits in this country would be raised based solely on the fact that we have cars with more and more HP these days?

Yeah, if only the driver skill went up with each HP bump, but yet... it seems to go in the other direction. HP is trending upward to a ridiculous amount, while driver stupidity is trending downward to a similar degree.

Yeah. Raising the speed limits in light of this does make sense...

<--- I agree with you on that part at least

i understand that subaru likes the whole wagon and sedan thing, but i think they would attract a lot more people with a coupe. i know i could get over the fact that they're AWD and consider an STi or Evo for purchase if they were available in 2 door.

In a word: Yes.

What's the point of having 300 HP Wagons if you can only use that power for a few seconds before breaking the law? It's not speed that kills, its driver inattentiveness. Speed can make the accident worse however, the root of the problem is that we allow people on the road that shouldn't be there in the first place.

Besides, you can barely speed anywhere in metro areas with the traffic. What I'm really talking about is increasing the speed limit on the interstates.
