I think it looks fine. IF you are an enthusiast, what it does is more important. From the Edmunds article, it sounds like this thing has upped the game and if it's hanging with the 335 for a less price, and more reliable, then it's a win.

'08 is going to be great for enthusiasts. New EVO, STi, TL (SH-AWD), G37, and a few others. I know one thing, if you are in the market for a new car in this price range, wait. There will be so many performance orientated cars in the 30k range next year. Best year I can think of in quite some time in regards to so many new, desirable choices. My $.02 anyway.

looks ok.

I wish they had put a DSG tranny like the GTi. IMO a DSG tranny can do more for a car than simply bumping the power and keeping the same old 5AT.

I know there is a 6MT option and I'm glad of that and would take that over the 5AT, but for a GT car like this a DSG would be great and bring something that BMW doesn't have yet.

It's great that cars are getting re-done so quickly. (except for the S2000 now entering it's 8th year), the G35 coupe was only on sale for 4 years (?).

wow look at that huge piece of shit viper.

35k will get you an earlier NSX (91-95) with 50-60k miles in excellent condition.

I could find several great condition 96-97 V8 esprits with 20-25k miles right now for 40k. If I looked hard enough I'm sure I could find one with a few more miles for 35k in good condition.

Do you realize how long they have made 911 turbos? A loved 930 turbo with 50k miles is an easy find at 35k.

And when the hell did I say anything about daily driving? I said I (emphasis on *I* if you didn't catch it) wouldn't buy that car for 35k.

I'll admit the C6 is a stretch.. hello salvage title. maybe in 2 years.

and I didn't suggest an M3 because I wouldn't buy one.. get my drift.
so you want to be one of those who buys 10 year old cars because you can not afford it when it was new. not a daily driver? don't see people buying the g37 for a weekend car.

I like it. A little swoopier and the interior is definitely nicer. With the extra grunt and purported performance increase, it should be a great car.

35 grand will buy you a viper RT vert, 911 turbo, NSX, Elise, V8 Esprit, lotus 7 replica, factory five cobra, C5 or C6 vette.. I just can't imagine spending 35k on something so uninspiring as this g35 coupe
I would not want a single one of those cars for a daily driver regardless of the fact that they would all be several years old, some completely impractical, and all out of warranty.

Of course if I was looking for a true sports car, I wouldnt be looking at a GT car either...

I don't understand the discussion about what esoteric used car you can buy for the same and like has been said you can't compair the new G37 to a Cobra Kit car or a 1980s Ferrari (etc.).

Ford is offering the Mustang Shelby with a NA V8 that's not has the same HP as the V6 in the Infiniti for low-mid $30s and the GTO similar price is going out of production.

Personally, as has been said, a used M3 or new 328/335i or even a new Vette you can get for under $40K
