^ I agree. I don't recollect where I saw them or what exactly the figures were, but the Smart's gas mileage seemed pretty unremarkable to me. The only advantage that I can see to the car is being able to park in teeny spaces. Otherwise, buy a Fit and get a real car, IMO.
On another note, I think I also forgot the new Mazda 6. They should be pretty nice with the new 3.5 V6. Too bad they probably won't offer a manual with the wagon, though.
And, although not terribly enthusiast oriented, Infiniti is apparently going to release a new SUV, the EX. It looks to me like this will be the direct replacement for the FX (it rides on the same wheelbase). I anticipate the FX getting bigger with an available 3rd row and more expensive when it is replaced for 2009(?). My wife will probably want either an EX or the new FX.

Yeah, where the hell is the mazdaspeed miata?
Every car company that makes a roadster sells a higher performance version. Even lotus makes a supercharged exige (though not a roadster)
Put that mazdaspeed3 260hp engine in a miata and you will have one AMAZING sports car.
What's taking so long?
