Is the blue devil thingy out in 2009 or 2008?
I dunno. Maybe calendar year 2008 as a 2009 model? I really couldn't be less interested in the car, though (and it's not cus I don't like C6 Vettes).

You might want to do another search, someone has pics of an undisguised 1 series coupe gassing up. If I could remember where I saw them I would post the link.
Yea it was gassing up but it was covered. The shot was from behind right?

^ What's that? Is that the car they were supposedly going to build with Audi?
yes but as you can see from the link above, it looks nothing like the original concept, and I do not believe Audi has anything to do with it now.

Lotus Esprit ?
Artega GT ?
Jaguar C-XF ?
Tramontana ?

I did forget the A5/S5. But, although the R32 should be replaced by an R36, I don't think this is gonna happen. As I understand it, the DSG can't handle the torque of the 3.6, so the car will soldier on as the R32, I believe.
You are right. My bad... I thought I came across an article about Golf R36 this morning.

Looking into it further, Automobile says, "The 250-hp R32, based on the fifth-generation Golf/Rabbit. A DSG dual-clutch manu-matic transmission will be standard, as will a base price of about $30,000. VW would love to have produced an R36 using the 3.6-liter VR6 from the Passat, but there's not enough room under the current Golf/Rabbit's hood. Expect it in mid-2007."

^ Well, that's weird. I thought they actually made the angle even narrower for the 3.6. From 15 degrees to something less than 10 degrees. I could be wrong, but if I'm not, it's weird that it wouldn't fit...

Good. Maybe there were be a lot of cross-shopping going on that'll keep the typical "market adjustments" dealers like to tack on to new models to a minimum (Yeah, I know. High hopes. ).

I think someone here mentioned about how incredible 2008 (model/calendar year) is going to be for the car enthusiast
Yeah, it was me I mentioned this yesterday or the day before. I advise anyone wanting to make a new enthusiast purchase, to wait. Many of the cars you listed are way out of my price range, even if I had the $ there is no need to buy a Porsche or anything in the price range when you can have 90 percent of the fun for a fraction of the price. I'm looking forward to reading about the G37, new TL with SH-AWD, the new Acura Coupe (speculation says based on TSX, we'll see), the EVO, and Sti. My next purchase will be one of these most definitely. I might buy a new DD between now and then but one of those will be in the garage late next year. I'm glad all of them are coming at once because it will force the dealers to deal on them instead of gouging. There will be so many choices that you can NEXT the salesman

Now if Honda will just make me a V4 CBR or all new VFR I'd be in Heaven.

I like to look at the benchmark:

Corvette
911
M3

I wonder how large the market is going to be for $60K++ cars. Will the number of cars sold in the M3/GT-R/IS-F class swell or will the buyers just spread out?

How about the 911 class? We already have the Vantage and the M6 and now the R8 has game.

There really is not anything that's going directly against the Vette. The Cayman S and GT-R and M3 and such are all more expensive and/or a lot heavier, the Elise is an alternative but not as much of an all around car as the Vette.
