I have owned an Evo. Over 500hp. Lots of fun. I am looking at getting an STI limited as well. I like the looks better. I will keep the S2000 though. I am enjoying it too much. Just need some extra room.

A guy that I autoX with has a fairly modified 05 MR that he runs in Street Mod. He has 44,000 trouble free miles and still on the original clutch with two full AutoX seasons and at least 10 track days on it.

Yes I know some people think that Evos understeer, but instead of new swaybars perhaps you need to drive differently. The OP said he had no problem getting it sideways, and he had never driven it before. My AP1 understeers horribly during autox with the tires it has on it now, but I'm not going to go so far as to say all S2k's understeer. I manage to correct it with a bit more throttle.

Driving on the street is nothing like at a track. The evo tends towards understeer. It is not neutral and it sure isn't an oversteering car. The evo tends to feel very neutral at slow speeds and when messing around on the street, but at the track at high speeds it understeers. This is common knowledge among people who drive their evos on the track.
As far as the clutch the rumors of it's demise are much like the rumors of the S2000 clutch. People claim the stock clutch won't last 15k miles, but somehow I got 50k and 10 track days out of mine. And a buddy in Texas is still on his stock 02 clutch at 80k miles and twice that many track days. People at evom report seeing 5k miles on their clutches up to 60k+.

I guess we'll have to agree to disagree. I have tracked the Evo and was very happy with how it handled. Not much understeer at all. http://www.pueblomotorsportspark.com/map.htm <--- That's where I went, and I was on the stock Advans.

Sorry, i'm an evo fan. To be honest I really haven't done a lot of research on the STi but the people who own them love them, same with the EVO. I just think the EVO has a much cleaner, street-racer look and to me the STi look, looks more like a rally car.
