You can get the 2006 Evolution IX SE for $29,999 at South Coast:
http://forums.evolutionm.net/showthread.ph...20&page=1&pp=15
They have deals on other models too. Even with shipping, it might be cheaper than local.
Or if you can find someone to give you a Mitsubishi employee/VIP pricing sponsorship, you can get an IX SE for $28,800.

I was able to negotiate a Evo IX SE for $1k under invoice with no trade. I almost bought it.
I personally find it hard to shell out $30k+ on a Mitsu product. The company is really in trouble. Have you seen the rebates on their other models?
I drove a couple of Evo IXs. It is a sensational car.

On the test drive I pushed the car pretty hard and even got it sideways, it felt like a RWD which I liked a lot. Making a u-turn its a pain in the ass though.

^^^ Aha! Someone agrees that it's not an understeering pig!
I don't think I would trust any other car from Mitsu, but the IX has given me no trouble. Actually, the clutch went out before 8k miles but it was replaced under warantee. This was even after some Mustang Mach 1 owner had gone in wanting to trade in for one and he told a whole story about how an electric blue IX with a driver fitting my description had smoked him.
The only problem was the tech was trying to tell me that it was something wrong with the turbo when it was clearly the clutch slipping. Eventually they gave in and replaced the entire clutch assembly, and maybe they learned a thing or two about what causes free rev'ing when in gear.

You would really have to abuse the Evo's clutch in order to use it all up in under 10,000 mi.
A guy that I autoX with has a fairly modified 05 MR that he runs in Street Mod. He has 44,000 trouble free miles and still on the original clutch with two full AutoX seasons and at least 10 track days on it.

Well I got the STI Limited in the Dark Silver (Looks like Silverstone) picking it up on Friday. I got it for $33K plus a few goodies for free like the gauge package, diff. cover and the rear window wing (not the huge fugly thing). Now the thing I need to do is swap those tail lights because Im hating them with my life, can someone point me out where can I get good looking aftermarket tail lights for the STi. Thank You guys for all the help and I will post pictures soon. Stand By.
