2005 RL (it's about time)
It's one of the sad examples in the auto world where the TL outshines the RL (flagship). Well the 2005 RL should put that to bed.

300hp 3.5L V6 AWD with an industry first system that distributes force not only front-rear, but also right-left. Up to 70% of power can go to the rear during acceleration.
300hp doesn't sound like a lot but it's a healthy 75hp bump from the 04 RL. And it's up on the 4.3L V8 from the LS430 (290hp).

I'm glad Acura finally bit the bullet on this car. The current RL might as well be a Mazda Millenia in terms of recognition. The RL was most definitely not an improvement on the Legend.
As far as the TL outshining the RL, it depends. The Merc E-class creams the S-class in worldwide sales. I'm not sure exactly why this is, but apparently a lot of people around the world prefer it to the more crusier-like S. The same goes for BMW....7-series sales I'm sure are well eclipsed by the 5, and even further by the 3.
