Nimesh,
What the hell is wrong with you?
2 weeks ago you're talking me out of a used 996 with 320hp, now all the sudden you want a Boxster S.
I say wait for the new Box Coupe. 3.4l, 300hp, 0-60 in 5 seconds.
Should be something special. I'd get a white one.

was perusing rennlist all day ().......there's a few co.'s that do the 3.4 conversion in the states.
you could by a non-S boxster and have the 3.4 dropped in for 9K.
if i were to buy a brand new base boxster, maybe i can get a few bucks for the motor as it would be new....not a big deal, but worth asking about.
i believe you'd have to pay for PSM and a 6 speed (not standard on a base boxster)....and not sure if the brakes are the same on both S and non-S....
leaning more towards dark blue on cocoa.....
i couldn't sleep last night.
i could save $20K by buying it in the states.

Don't get cocoa. , that's my choice. Slate grey outside, cocoa inside. Gorgeous.
I'm still holding out for the coupe, though.
Have you seen the 987 yet? I'll be at the autoshow to check it out.
$20k savings in the US is well worth it. Does Porsche honour US warranties up here?

You still have to pay tax and money to "federalize" it for Canada. I know a guy who recetly got a great deal on a used Boxster in L.A. (go figure) and drove it home to Vancouver. At the end of the day he saved zero money. This was a used car so the comparison may not be valid ...

the box is only 44K down in the states, but it's 63K in canada (box-s 53K in US, 76K in CN).
now factor in the stronger CN dollar (@ 1.20), along with a lower tax/duty base.
plus, i wouldn't pay duty/taxes on the motor swap....i'd present the car as is at customs.
voila....20K saved.
steve, i imported my '04 S2000 ($30K in US, $50K in CN) from ganley honda/hardtopguy in 2003....so i've done this before - saved $10K on that one.
it's alot of headaches, but i'm not as rich as you.....
