The M3 looks alot better as well. My neighbor has a brand new S4 and it doesnt really look all the much different from an A4. You're in vegas, so you wont really need the Quattro all that much anyway.

and whoever said the S4 has way more potential...I think the whole "Audi= alot of potential" cliche only applies to the Turbo cars...

I've driven both and would go for the S4. The S4 is a much nicer car in terms of interior design and ride but has similar performance to the M3. The S4's 4.2L V8 also sounds much better and probably has more room for tuning than the M3's.

oh..is that mean Porshe=Audi=VW??!? HELL NO.

VW are made in Mexico.
Audi/Porsche are made in german.
Also new A4/S4(B6) flatform seems to be do better or about same in reliblity compare to E46.

a little late to the game, but have you looked at the Volvo S60R? they have 300hp and 6 speeds, 4 doors and I would be you could get one for under $40k...i think the sticker price on the base model (which is fairly loaded) is less than $40k...plus you could probably talk them down some....

M3 without a doubt....the S4 has a much better interior and quality though... and yes, I have driven both.

Are you on crack? First of all, the new S4 has been out how long? Not long enough to judge it's reliability. In addition to which...talk with some of the new Audi owners. They're no different now then when I had either of my S4's. They are having lots of problems with them and what's a 'flatform'? I have owned 3 E46 BMW's...2 of which were/are M3's and have had no mechanical issues with any of them.

look guys the answer is simple:

it depends on what you want out of the car.......

bottom line is they are both fast cars and they both have high quality....

most/if not all is personal preference........

if you need a sedan than obviously go with the S4.....

both come in a 6 speed version.....

i mean if you are only basing a car on how fast it is, then i wouldn't go with either, i'd get a zo6.....

it just depends on what your needs are.

the quattro is nice in the winter if you live up north like me, but i still think i'd get the m3.....

so maybe u need to talk to new Audi owners..
I do...there are two people in M3 forum that have purchased new S4's. One was traded in under Lemon Law and the other has been in the shop with issues twice already and that's not the only one. I browse several Audi forums as well and know that these cars are not much different than previous generations. VW's have the same issues for the most part...at least same type of issues.
