Default 2004 GSX-R600

Trying to buy an S2K for the summer so the other toy has to go first. Its a 2004 GSX-R600. I'm just not sure what the value on these things are and am trying to get a good price to ask for it. Its blue/white with around 1950 miles on it. Bike is all stock except for a yosh slip on. I laid it down at around 40 mph, the fairings were all messed up along with a 1/2 inch sratch on the gas tank. I paid a great deal of money to get the fairings replaced but left the sratch on the tank alone. This is my problem, the bike runs 100 % and looks brand new minus the small sratch but does laying a bike down significantly decrease the value.

So i ask you bike guys, how much should i ask for when selling this bike?

Thank You.

Yes it does, other than you who really knows how bad you crashed it.

All the poser guys want a minter so they won't be interested, racers and track hounds buy salvaged bikes pretty frequently, so they would not want to pay much.

On many bike the forks and triple clamps get twisted easily and need a laser alignment (see Computrack).

What does a new painted tank cost? Subtract that from the book value, plus another $ 500.00

My guess 4500 to 5000.

A local dealer here has one about the same as yours, minus the crash damage, listed for $7200. They put it in the cycle trader for $6500. Hope that helps. Whats your bottom dollar? I might know someone who is interested.

If i could get around 6000 for it i would let it go. I'd really hate to see it only go for 4500-5000 like the other gentlemen said. I paid around 9000 total for the bike new with the 3 year extended warranty, so i sure as heck hope the value isn't cut in half after less than 2000 miles of riding. Let me know if your friend is interested.

my friend has the orange an black 04 600 with a little over 1k a dealer offered him $6700 but his is in perfect condition. with your's crashed i don't see anyone willing to pay more then $4500.... no matter how good the bike looks in the end when you tell someone you dropped the bike that puts a bad taste in there mouth if you know what i mean.

Yeah you take a beating on it the first year then it levels off and stay about the same for quite a while...I say hold onto it and get some more use out of it, it won't depreciate much more really.

Where are you located? And have you any pics of the scratch?

I would get the scratch fixed if I were you. Are you sure you would rather have an S2k than the bike? If I had to choose one of the two, I would have to go with a bike.

I'm located in Pennsylvania

And yes i'm positive that i want an S2K instead of my bike. I love riding and everything but i just scare myself sometimes and with most of my buddies selling theirs I don't have anybody to ride with anymore.
