I know I asked you this before, but what would a decent copy go for nowadays?

I look all the time on ebay as I would love to find a donar car, great body, crap mechanicals or crap body and great mechanicals. I see them in the 2 to 4 grand range, but that is advertised price, but who knows what they go for. The problem of course is trying to find one that has not been too badly molested by the FnF crowd.

And, just so you know, every once in a while the perfect one does show up. About a month ago a white '91 Si showed up on ebay looking like it fell out of a time capsule. 30,000 some miles, totally original, totally stock, totally amazing, awesome condition. The last time I had the strength to look at the auction the price was up to $6,500.

The first time I took my CRX-SiR out on an S2000 drive I had nearly every S2000 driver asking questions like "how in the hell can that thing hang with us?"

Honda was just flat out stupid to not invest the money to make this compatable with airbag technology, for that is the reason the CRX platform was allowed to die.

Hands down, this is the best one on ebay right now!

A couple of years ago I put my 91 CRX si on Autotrader Online and and had calls starting within 5 minutes from all over the country. The car sold to the first person that got to see it. It was a great car with a perfect interior. It was almost as nice as the ebay car.

In 1984 I bought a brand new CRX 1.5 Red/Silver. I drove it 99,000+ miles and probably didn't have 5 shifts in that time without my right foot on the floor. I never had any problems with it and it remains one of my all time favorite cars. It was smaller, lighter, and even better than my 91 CRXsi.

Yeah I was looking at that one. Not a bad deal for the seller considering it's a 16 year old car! Some serious resale value there.

Yeah, the insurance on the car was killer. When I upgraded to the S, my premiums only went up 20 bucks for six months, whereas if I went with a Z it would actually go down 100 for six months. That was indeed a drawback and a point for the GTI (I was deciding between the two), but when you factor in regular gas, great reliability, low cost of operation, etc, the total operating cost is still lower.
Btw, that's a sweet CRX Triple H, that can't be original paint though right? Although I have a personal bias against fwd, if I were to do a fwd project, a CRX would be it... clean with a B16 and mild suspension work, would make a fun little car.

not bad of a car , not a great car either. for 10k you can find a nice integra GSR , for 12-14k you can buy an ITR and have a blast.
also look into the 99-00 EM1, they have better resale value than the hatch SI and are more fun to drive also
they seem to have better resale than the GSR, which is a superior car in just about every way.

The thing is though, college economics is once again right...

When supply is low, and demand is constant or high, price will go very high.

The CRX-Si proves this point out perfectly. Cars unmolested like that are becoming downright rare.

Dude, it's only money
