How are you liking your 987S so far?
Very much!

Other than couple minor complaints, it has been great. The shifter is very good, but I still miss the one in S2000. The BS steering wheel leaves a lot to be desired. Too big, too skinny, not ergonomic, and has low quality covering that I am still skeptic whether if it is actually leather as they claim.

The throttle response was terrible until I removed the restrictor plate (or de-snorkel as they say) that blocks air to the intake. The difference is amazing. Since then, it has the same power-on-tap feel and accelerates with the same responsiveness and ferocity as an E46 M3 or E90 335i, which is to say impressive by my standard. In a different frame of reference: at 2,500 RPM it feels like an S2000 in VTEC with 4.44 final gear

I don't like the way Honda has done the S2000 or NSX over time it's not much different unlike say F360 to F430 in the same period. But the price is still cheap, in fact with all the extra features and with lower value of the dollar than it was in 1999 the S2000 even at $34K todays dollars would be like $30K in 1999 and its got TC and airbag deactivation abd better stereo and better (larger) wheels etc...

Also the S2000 ap1 seems to be about as good as the newer ones so my car seems to be almost as good as a new S2000 but is worth half the price so it makes used S2000s still good to own.

I am always thinking of selling my S2000 but the price gap to a new car such as the BS or CS or even a new Corvette is my car plus $30K (or plus $40K) so it makes me see the value of keeping my S2000. I'd as soon have $30K in an investent rather than as a negative investment (loan).

As I said before the main reason I would 'upgrade' to something from the S2000 is for more comfort or more just to get something different but as it was built in 99 or my car from 2002 (03 MY) is still a great car IMO one of the best sports cars ever or at least one of the best in the last 8 years.
Rai, I have a different take on car cost. The way I see it is you don

I just posted on that Ray S Rennlist thread.

How is that I can say the same things on both s2ki.com and Rennlist.com, yet on s2ki.com people accuse me of being a Porsche fanboy, while on Rennlist.com people accuse me of being a Honda fanboy?

S2K without a doubt corners faster, and has better chassis feel/response.

986 without a doubt has better steering feel, and is much more stable towards the limit.

Having owned both, I personally prefer the S2K, but they're both damn fine cars.
