2003 Bmw Z4-ugly
New issue of R & T has pictures of 03 Z4 which replaces the Z3. Mechanically the same but body is changed. I'm surprised no one else has mentioned this because the car is:
GODAWFUL UGLY--UGLY--UGLY--HIDEOUS!
What is BMW thinking?

Why didn't they change it mechanically? The current Z3 has the same rear suspension as E30 3-series of late 80s, early 90s vintage. Car and Driver's main complaint with the Z3 seems to be that it's dated. Don't they need to change the mechanicals to fix that? Oh well, I hope it does perform well. My greatest fear is that companies like Honda and BMW that make good performance cars screw it up. Lately, with styling, both Honda and BMW have been screwing things over majorly. Por Ejemplo, the new Accords Saturn-esque tail, the new 7 series, the new Civic Si, hell, every new Civic, and this Z4.

Ugly is in the eye of the beholder ... Guess I too am one of them beholding. Yes, BMW seems to have (hopefully momentarilly) gone astray with the 7-series, CS1 and this thing. Though maybe it'll grow on me.
Same mechanically? Everything I've read says they did indeed switch to an updated current 3-series like suspension.
Dime a dozen ??
