I thought alot about it, I think the 740 is the way to go,
as Plyrs says the lease is up on the S8, they buy back is to high IMO, so I don't think its good value to buy it out.. not with the deal I can get on a 740.
Nimesh set me up.. I'm almost ready..
Thanks for the input guys.. it seems the BMW is more inline with what I want

we've owned a 01 s430 and now the 03 s500 and here are my impressiosn:
negatives:
the ergonomics suck - window switches are hard to get to, door lock is in the center of the dash, etc
navigation system is the worst out of all other cars we've owned. buttons dont make sense, plus, it's cd based.
no in dash cd player - need to get the fiber optic changer
expensive to maintain. ie- brake pads are $$$! mb service costs are $$$.
drinks alot of gas.
on the 430, we had issues with the tranny and windshield. if you'd look through it, everything looked warped.
if you could get an 03, i think you may like it a little better. there are navi changes as well as the projector lights.
the positives are:
tons of room for passengers
decent torque
pimp factor
looks great with a decent set of 18's and a lowering kit (air suspension, so you need to swap out the bracket mounts)
amazing cross country comfort - we went from houston tx to nyc in this badboy and loved every minute of it!

I can tell most of you have not had the great experience with German cars. They are awful. Get a LS 430, you wont have problems and it will keep you smiling. I have had a C32 and S4. While they are great to drive, the reliability issues do not make them worth having. I try to warn any of you about buying German cars. I now have two Lexus and am happier than ever with my cars.
