1st Gen Mitsu Eclipse
I'm looking to buy a second car that's practical, seats four and is reliable, but fun to drive. I was looking at this 94 Mitsubishi Eclipse (not the GS) with 76k miles. How are they in terms of reliability? I am not looking for a high HP car (already have the S). I always liked my friend's Eagle Talon back in the day. Should I go with the GS model?

Run away from that car as fast as you can. I am embarassed to say that I had the unfortunate luck of owning a 1st gen eclipse. It was the most unreliable car I have ever owned.
If you need a used car stick with honda or toyota. Just my .02 cents.

My son's hight school car was a 91 eclipse. It only seats foUr if the people in the back are under 50 pounds. Even one small teenage girl is uncomfortable. His friends would only get a third person into his car if nothing else was available. Also it is taking up room in my garage because it needs a new transmission. NOT RELIABLE!!!!!

yep, the transmissions in the 1G and 2G eclipses, at least the ATs (most of them) suck ass.
a friend had a 2G GS and dumped it quick because it had tranny problems.
