On skidpad numbers
* Very tire dependent. You can make HUGE changes with tire, tire size, tire pressure, wheelwidth and so forth.
* Cars can be tuned to perform best in certain radius turns. Below that radius they tend to understeer, above they tend to oversteer. The Mclaren is likely tuned for high speed track type use. A car tuned for best cornering for low speed autocross = too twitchy and tailhappy for the open track.

About our cars, while I generally agree they see-saw a bit on a traction circle, the first response on my S (bone stock) during steady acceleration into a traction circle has been understeer. I would go so far as to define it as an understeering car. The only reason for some oversteer see-sawing is the effect of a throttle lift.
