I'm embarrased to say that I like them. I was looking for one for a rallycross project for a while but the few I found were totally beat up. Call me a ricer if you will but I wouldn't mind building something like this, complete with a GSR engine:

I've seen a few 2WD hybrids but no AWD yet, so I don't know it the swap can be done. It'd be cool as hell to make an RT into a WRX wagon killer  There's a forum somewhere for these wagons with a decent member count but I can't find it now. My memory is a little foggy but I think I remember reading something in there about the RT having the same driveline as a newer AWD Honda and retrofitting driveline parts was possible. |
Thanks for the great info. A member in the New England forum told me that these wagons became the first gen CR-V. Does that make sense? It sure looks a lot bigger than a Civic.
The guy dropped the price to 1500. When I get back home on Friday I'll give him a call and check it out closer. It certainly has rust, but so does every Civic of that age around here. Is there any rust that is terminal on these things? I'm not too concerned about some rust around the wheel wells, but do theyrust out around suspension atachment points too? |
I found their forum! Wagon drivin' post whores!

Thanks a lot. Now you got me searching ebay and craigslist during working hours looking for wagons again :D
Looks like a couple of WRX fighters have been built already (see the FMIC?): http://pbomers.com/2006gallery/Cars/...ke_ripping.gif |
