Wow, only $1,000,000 too! I never realized that the term "Realistically priced" could ever be applied to a $1,000,000 Chevelle.
Awesome looking car if it's a real survivor. But I sure hope the seller has some rock solid documenetation to prove that mileage is original and accurate...

I wouldn't be suprised to see that car at this year's BJ auction. It's full of rich guys who fall over each other to throw money at cars like that one.
Last year they were talking about why no import cars ever make the floor. The best answer the guy could come up with was "there just aren't many enthusiasts for mass production cars like the Supra".
Real answer: only hicks would spend $200k for poorly built American cars from their youth.
I only watch for the Vettes.

Or more likely the people with that kind of money to blow on a car couldn't care less about a Supra. They aren't buying a "car", they are buying a piece of automotive history, probably nostalgic for days of youth gone by.
I also doubt that many "hicks" can afford a 200K garage queen.

Plus, things like Supras are at an all-time price high. Chances are, in a handful of years, the prices on them will drastically drop and your m4 h0t wh1p won't be worth shit. The money MAY still be in an unmodified import like the Supra, but it will need to be in great condition.
I have a friend who has a ~700hp Supra for a fun car and a stock '96 with 30,000 miles on it, great condition. He plans on keeping the '96 as a collector's car since most Supras are being bastardized by mods. Same way with what happened to muscle cars. Now, stock/original ones are worth tons more than modified ones.

Back then WE made the best-built cars. Get in a vintage Triumph and then get in an American car of the same time period and tell me the Triumph feels better built.
Even though I think the Supra is a nice car, I'd have to agree with the assessment that people are not going to lay out $200k on a fanboyed-out car, let alone have the guts to put one on the stand and ask that kind of money for it. It's a fast car, but what has it done for automotive history, other than being a stand-out performer from Japan?
