Default 1969 ZL-1

Sorry about the long post, this is just probably the single coolest american ride ever, IMO: 10.89 from the factory at 130mph...we just haven't come that far in 40 years, have we?

When I was in HS a guy a few blocks away bought a 69 COPO Camaro after he came back from Nam

That was the baddest ass car I could ever remember ; nothing could touch that car on the street......performance wise

This isn't it but it is identical

back in the olden days I think a car like that killed all things living behind it with the exhaust......plus that was a 2 off deal. anyone could make a car do a 10 second qtr for 2 cars......(plus it says they were running slicks....that is worth a fair amount of time on a high hp / traction limited car like this).

the average L88 vette did high 12's which is fast especially considering they had shit tires / suspension compared to now.... but again lighter weight, crude handling, horrible emissions, shitty air conditioning, etc...

try to drive just about any 196X car... you smell like exhaust when you get out...great stuff...

that repo definately looks cool.... I am sure it will cost more than a Z06 though.. and not be as good at anything.....

Except looking badass, right?

While they did only make 2, it was a widely available option from all dealers - so it was just as "production" as any other car at the time. Certainly the slicks help - but I'm betting a good set of sports tires from 2007 has better grip than the slicks they used in that test.

Would the exhaust eventually melt the rubber on the rear tires in stop and go traffic or sitting at a red light too long?

Maybe I missed it - but what sort of frame is this replica based on? An original (but ordinary) Corvette from that generation?
