10th gen Civic, Si / Type R coming to US
#41
Actually, a Honda insider just said 1.5T (180-200 hp) for uplevel models and 2.0L n/a engine (160 hp) for the base model. Si will probably have detuned 2.0T with 240-250 hp. Type R will be 2.0T with 280+ hp. Power levels are estimates...

1. It sucks that this isn't a hatchback. What happened to the old idea of a useful yet fun to drive Honda?
2. That is really ugly. Way to much boy racer. I would be embarrassed to drive it. Sadly, having seen a Focus ST on the road, I feel about the same... perhaps a bit less (the Ford wasn't that shade of green) about the Focus as well. Here is a stock 1999 Si
It's got nice suspension and engine bits but you could sneak it under the radar since the Si badges were about all that set the thing apart from a standard Civic. This thing looks like a Honda child found Mommy Mitusbishi's makeup kit and went to town. It's really trying too hard to look racer and failing rather badly.

"Today Honda unveiled its ultra-sporty Civic Concept at the New York International Auto Show as the brand prepares to launch its completely reimagined 10th-Generation Civic models beginning this fall. With a sharper focus on spirited performance and class-leading versatility, the new Civic lineup will include Civic Sedan, Coupe and Si models along with the return of the Civic hatchback, followed by the launch of a new Civic Type-R as the performance flagship of the Civic lineup."

Just to give potential buyers a heads up. When MY2006 Civics came out, my local dealer had a $5k "market adjustment" on all Civics...Even Dx's.... They tried the same thing for MY2007.
