Rules:

1. You are given $100k to purchase a new or used vehicle and any money you don't spend you have to give back to your rich uncle.

2. The car will have a flat 4 year/50k warranty irrelevant of the real-world warranty, so beyond that you are on your own. If you buy a used car, this warranty will be reduced 1 year for each year old the used car is.

3. You are responsible for all maintenance, repairs, etc. for the entire 8 year period even if you have a lemon. If you buy a 2 year old used car, it will obviously be 10 years old when you can unload it.

4. It is your ONLY car for the entire 8 years. You cannot trade in or buy a new car no matter what. You cannot rely on any other cars (like wife/gf/bf whatever). It is the only vehicle you have access to, no exceptions.

5. No modifications are permitted to the car under the $100k purchase price. Car has to remain stock for the entire 8 year period.

- back seat (for emergencies and groceries)
- good gas mileage (for the type of car it is at least)
- great sports car (although starting the march towards being a great and really really sporty GT)
- not so "exotic" as to have to deal with million dollar oil changes and spotty dealer locations BUT still have the panache of having a special car.
- now that the RMS problems appear to be fixed, "appears" to be fairly reliable as well
(of course who knows with the new DI 3.8 and PDK)
- interior is nice enough (although I'd hardly say its amazing for the price at least)
- option of PDK (don't know if i'd actually get it though)

Having to choose 1 car and 1 car only is about making compromises and to me, the 911 appears to be the best one, despite not being the best at any of the issues I listed above.

All German cars wouldn't fit the bill becuase of the reliablity issues. Yes, I know what I'm taking about since I've owned an Audi, BMW, and Mercedes when most of you guys just read about them in magazines. My pick would be a Lexus LS460L. Some may say it's boring to drive, and you are right. The joy of ownership would make up for any of the car's few short comings. Good thing is it's a fairly new model so you won't see a new one for a while.

Nissan GT-R was the first thing that came to mind, so that's what I'll go with. I could get a brand new one for under $100K.
