'08 base C6 Improvements
#12
Well updates are good, but we're talking about a car that already kicked ass and took names. It has a couple interior upgrades but still not what I want. And "cyber" pattern? I had to read that 3 times in the press info, and it still sounds like a very poorly-named idea.

The interior seems to be about the same.

thats my issue... sure i love the power bump... who wouldnt... but, seriously... i dont think the power was ever a problem with corvette's... this "new" center console is soo bland it makes the new M3's interior and center console look exotic....

I was expecting a 'new' interior not some new leather or plastic/aluminum trim.
My point is the actual materials may not be the issue, it's the design layout and the style. I mean the CORVETTE embossed on the dash, what's that about? In case I forget what car I'm driving?
The red/blue light accents around the guages? Who is in charge of that crap?
Far be it from me to complain, GM is going to sell a crap load of them. I think, much like the Mustang, there are people who actually like the tacky-ness and ugly details on these cars.
My point is, I could almost buy one, almost bought a C5 Z06. But if I did it would be in spite of the interior. It would be like people buy a Mustang and all that comes with, but hey they can get a V8 for low-$20s so thats great. Same with the Corvette, it's performance on par with more expensive cars. But it's not going to win any style awards (IMO).
These are still the same people who green-lighted the original steering wheel

face it guys, you that claim you won't buy the car purely based on the interior wouldn't buy the car no matter what it looked like. You just pick on the interior because everything else about the car is unassailable. Give it up. We've all heard it before, and nothing you have to say has any insight beyond "I'm a brand snob." I don't know why you bother - who do you think you are fooling? Just come out and say you'd buy the Corvette but you are biased against American cars. Stop trying to rationalize what is an irrational position.
