So by removing the airfilter I can get +3hp at the wheel than the manufacturer advertises at the crank? Maybe it comes with a frictionless driveterrain. JAT.
No, you can get +2 hp, assuming the dyno is perfect (which it isn't, as already stated).

Seriously, please read before you jump into a fight that isn't yours.

What's a driveterrain?

so where are the 101 mph traps speeds? isn't that about 200whp nets you in a 2800lbs car?
Ah, you're playing with a computer instead of your brain. S2000s aren't hitting 101 mph in the 1/4 and they're roughly 2800 lbs (slightly less, perhaps) and 200 whp these days (maybe even a bit more than 200 whp, in the AP2s). So, why would the Si be doing it with worse launch conditions and less power? Hmm?

Again, they only got 190 whp in DRIVEABLE stock trim (you don't drive a car without the air filter unless you're an idiot). That would equate a lot closer to the real 1/4 mile speeds they're getting (96 mph or so).

So, and this is JAT, with the air filter off not only do I make up for all the HP lost between the crank and the wheel, but I ALSO gain 2+hp? I should walk out to my vehicle right now and pull that damn air filter off right now.

Yes, I guess with the retardedness, I mean wisdom that you are spreading I should just sit back and absorb it like a sponge.

It's the ricer version of drivetrain. But then again I'm not all up on my ricer knowledge so I may have miss-translated.

So you are actually going to try and claim no stock S2000s are running 101mph trap speeds? If you knew anything about drag racing you would know trap speed is much more dependent on HP and not drivetrain config. A FWD car weighing about the same as a RWD car putting about the same HP to the wheels should trap at roughly the same speed, give or take 1-2 mph. The SI is geared aggressively it's not an issue. If the SI can hit 199whp with the filter out and 190 with it in we should expect to see trap speeds in the 97-99 range stock. The filter out should net trap speeds about as high as the S2000.

You aren't seriously trying to say the S2000 can't trap at 101 stock?

the S2000 should trap anywhere between 99-102 in normal conditions.

I wouldn't look too much into this article. I know both cars very well and the Si is almost identical to the Type S in straightline speed. Most should dyno between 175-180 whp stock. The S2000 is still far out of reach stock for stock.
