This.
Sorry. I know you love your S, but numbers don't lie.

Frankly the 370z is nice on the power and the interior side from the older models but I'm not feeling the looks of it. Eh could just be mine but hate the boomrang headlights and manta ray front bumper .
When it comes to driving feel and fun the Z's def have a little bit of both and are definitely comfortable. The s2000 to me though always wins on pure sports feel and driver connection to the road (like any real sports car should have). I own both a 02 s2k which I bought 4 years ago and just picked up a 03 350z touring about a year ago as non winter daily.
The Z is very comfortable and a nice daily driver and even though my S was always a weekend car I couldn't see daily driving due the gearing and nature of the engine.
Frankly I would either go used S2k or used 350z touring and some sort of FI if you want a blast of car without breaking the bank due to the prices of these cars dropping.
I wish I could pay the prices people are paying now for used s2k's because when I bought mine got a great deal on it at 24k out the door but the extra money I saved could have went right into FI instead of waiting to install my kit this spring. The 350z touring on the other hand got it for a steal and after having the car for a year it still blue books for more than what I paid for it .
Unless you plan on the keeping the car for sometime I always felt getting a new car and/or leasing are just a waste of money. To each to own though just my opinion. Good luck with your decision either way you go and post pics. Later.

The 370z handles very well.. saying it's a drag car and only good in a straight line is absurd on so many levels... a stock 370z sport pulls .97g on the skidpad and slaloms at 71.4mph... and with 332hp... that's a recipe for fun.... nothing to scoff at.
The S is a great car... and definitely a car that any true enthusiast should be able to appreciate. I have driven several and have several friends with s2k's.... (ap1 and ap2s)... they're a blast to drive and are dead sexy.
I think it's a win-win either way. Both cars bring plenty to the table. I think it's pretty classy a lot of the S owners are saying get the Z.
I think the OP is doing the right thing... getting owners opinions... now he just needs to test drive both if he hasn't already... and sleep on it until he makes up his own mind.
Some knocks on the 370z.... the engine is not very smooth at high RPM... although it does get better with age... but the feeling of the engine grenading at high RPM is not very nice. It sounds great when screaming through gears, however. (different strokes for different folks, I guess).
Oil temp has been an issue for some track goers... most have solved that with an oil cooler.
Some minor and typical first year issues.... hatches not releasing on the first push of the button (non issue with verts).... driver seats that move slightly side to side... shifters rattling at high RPM... a small percentage of people have complained about a high pitched whine... and that's about it... nissan dealers have been willing and capable of resolving these minor first year bugs under warranty.
