06 Audi A3
Just saw an Audi A3 4dr wagon with a 2.0L turboed engine at a dealership marked for 16,900. I did a KBB and it books for 18,900. Has anyone had any experience with these cars? I've tried doing a little bit of research on it but can't really find too much about it. IDK maybe I'm just not looking in the right places...
Mainly I'd like to hear from those who have either owned or driven one before. I test drove it, and it seemed to be a really nice ride with a decent amount of power. But really, how dependable is this car? How expensive is it to replace parts on it, or get a simple tune-up? What has your overall experience been with it, good or bad?
Thanks in advance!

Used to own one. 06 A3 with Sport and DSG and opensky.
REAL fun car to drive. Espeically chipped. Interior is great and handling was real nice. In my 20k of owning it I didn't have any problems. My friend on the other hand still owns his and has 50k+. Only thing he had to swap out was a Diverter Valve.

I borrowed one for a weekend a couple of years ago and liked it well enough that I took the wife to the dealership to look at what they had. She thought it was a little to tight for a family car, the dealership had few, and prices at that time were a bit high.
Would expect it to be as reliable as VWs get but not as solid as many makes.

Awesome little car, a bit expensive to buy new, but used prices are very reasonable. We've had 2 A4's, the most recent was an 05 with the 1.8T and I had zero issues with mine over 40k miles when the lease was up.
We found the back seat a little tight on the A3 (we have 2 kids) but my wife still really wants one and I'd have no issues getting her one when her 328XI goes back.
Recent Audi's are far better than people give credit for reliability wise, do the scheduled maintenance (as you should on any car) and you'll be more than fine. Repairs are more expensive than your typical domestic car, but nothing massive.

I had one for a weekend since I was seriously considering buying. Nice interior (typical Audi), but it wasn't terribly fast and it was way overpriced. If they had an S-model here, I'd consider it again.
I forget, what platform is the A3 on?
