03 S2k vs 03 Vette Convertible

don't believe in what magazines say too often. If you look at the real stats, and of course the performance of the driver. Although reportedly c5s can run 13 flat, not everyone can. They usually run low 13's for a decent driver. The S will run stock low 14's for a decent driver. STOCK for STOCK, ur pretty screwed. IF you go ahead with the vortech kit and dyno tune it properly, you will be able to roll with the c5 and it will be a drivers race. There are PLENTY of SC'ed S2ks on this thread that run low 13's with clutch/traction issues. Any other work or mods additional to this (4.44 gear, rear end work, internals, clutch etc) will give you the advantage. GOOD LUCK!

ccarnel, what size are those tires? They look about as large as a vette's...would that fit on an S2000?
Buying new tires is a biatch though..
the tire size is 265/30 18's but they are about 275mm measured in width with a ruler.

Cool, I guess they ARE about as large as a vette's...my eyes aren't failing me. What's the stock tire width on an S2000? A lot of vette guys fit 315's on without tubbing, but those with 345's need the rear end tubbed out. I was just curious if there was a 'standard' amount of leeway in the tire size you can fit of the back of a car.
