03 Cobra or 04 STi?
i still dont plan on selling my S for awhile but i was just thinking about a next car. i know that i want something with FI (more "bang for your buck" w/mods), and something that handles well(it wont be fun going from an S to a crappy-handling car). so i want people's opinions on what car would be better to get next. not necessarily for me, because thats hard for you to say, but what YOU would choose, and why. maybe this will sway me in one direction more than another.

Straight hp, go for the Cobra. You can make ridiculous hp for about $1000. Handling I would give to the STI. But If I had a 3rd choice, I would probably go for the EVO MR over both of them, or a 05' GTO (and get a SC later) for comfort & true 4 person seating.

I was at a dyno day last week. A guy had a blown Cobra. With just an intake and exhaust he put down 427 to the rear wheels. If your into street racing and mad power the cobra by far is the best.

I would get the STI simply because it is not only a decently fast car with a lot of mod potential, but also a roomier car that handles very nicely and has AWD, which is very important in a rainy climate. A Cobra is a very powerful car, but it is traction-limited and a coupe. They are very different cars; it depends on what one is looking for.

Depending on your objectives, I would choose the STi.
After owning a 2003 Cobra prior to the S2000, I value quality more and would not buy another Ford for quite some time, if ever again.
As others have said, the Cobra can be tuned cheaper and with greater gains. I had over 400 rwhp with simply an exhaust and CAI. The motor was amazing.
I saw one person mention the 2005 GTO. Not a bad idea. GM has come a long way with their interiors and their pushrod motors are solid.

evo or sti. I sold my 2003 cobra and kept my 2003 evo. Cobra is fun to floor it (as long as you are going about 40, otherwise the rear tires just light up), but the shifter is crappy, brakes are just ok, steering is horrible and slow....... but damn do they sound great with almost any catback exhaust!
all depends on what you want to do with it. I had trouble getting traction even with 315mm drag radials! i did run a 12.4@116 mph with exhaust and chip. No intake, no pully.... and that was on the stock tires.... i think my 60' time was 1.99.... people easily hit 11's with a 2.8 or 2.93 pully.
