'03 CBR 600 RR vs. '04 GSXR 600
I'm looking for some opinions here. I am either going to purchase a brand new (overstock) '03 CBR 600 RR for $7500ish or a brand new '04 GSXR 600 for $6995ish. This is my first sportbike purchase and really can't decide what advantages there may be in one bike of the other. Any help / advice would be greatly appreciated!

On paper, the Gixxer's spec is better than the RR's. Radial brakes, inverted forks, and weighs less. But on the street and the track, it's the rider that makes the difference. If I were you, I'd get a used F4I/R6/Gixxer 6 or SV650s and spend the rest of the $$ on gears and MSF course. But that's just me.

I agree with nevert00fast. When I started, I bought a used '96 Honda 600, spent the money on a riding course (which is priceless), and a new helmet and jacket.
On the other hand, my friend purchased a brand new Yamaha R1 and learned riding from the that. He kinda got the "feel" for it from riding, kinda like the first time you learned to drive stick.
He figures techniques out more intuitively (like shifting weight, etc.) where as I learn by having it written or explained to me, why it works that way, and doing it.
You know yourself best, but i'd still recommend taking courses.

That's something I have been wondering about the RR. I am about to sell my 99 VFR and was thinking about getting back to 600 territory sometime next year.
I am 6' 2" and should be about 210 to 215 by the time I go to buy...I am concerned that the RR is going to be quite small and very uncomfortable.
I will probably never ride it for more than 2 hours at a time, so that might help a bit.
