I think these are some of the ugliest cars ever made. What are they, 200" long riding on a 98" wheel base? I think that gives them a 5' front overhang. Also, build quality appears to me to be lousy (panel gaps, interior materials, etc.). Now, I love a big Murican V8 as much as the next guy, but I'd try to scrape together enough dough for an LS2 GTO. A lightly used example of those ('05) could be found for around $25K, I would think. They're nothing great to look at either, but at least they're not offensively ugly like the Firebird WS6. Build quality seems far better, space efficiency is better (trunk notwithstanding), LS2 is better, and it has an IRS.

Decent car. The guy I bought my 944S from had one and it was just as fast. It was modified, as was the Porsche. The Porsche was putting out 279 whp/301 ft-lb and the WS6 was putting out 330 whp/380 ft/lbs (or thereabouts - too lazy to look it up) and they were equally fast on the track, despite the WS6 being a few hundred pounds heavier.
So, very quick car that can be made to handle decently (lots of rubber and upgraded brakes are especially important).

The 80's fastback Mustangs were better but the later trunk only cars lost the practicality of a hatch.
The mustang in comparison has a more pleasant seating position.

The issue with the Camaro is that despite it being a big car, it is cramped inside. I am balled up with bad sightlines cut off by the A-pillar and swept back windsheild.
