02 boxster s and 02 m roadster
we just got a traded in 02 boxster s at my work and i just drove it for the first time! impressions, the car had alittle bit of problems when it was cold and it made me look like a amerature. the car felt like it had good power and sounded really good past 4k rpm, but it deff. didnt fell as fast as the s2k. the interior was very nicely appointed but the materials didnt feel up to par for a 50k priced car. once i got back i also decided to drive our 02 m roadster just for a little comparison. upon getting in the car i noticed the head room was a serious problem because my spikie hair was hitting the roof. this m roadster is the one with the 3.2l inline 6 with 314hp and 262lb/ft and after driving for a minute i noticed that the car was very well composed and felt really stable even a triple digit speeds. the car was very fast and deff. would beat the hell outta my s. Even know this car felt very fast i would never buy one cause it was probably the most uncomfortable car i have ever been in. just thougght i would let you know what i do when im bored

The M Roadster's biggest weakness is its lack of structural stiffness and the detrimental effect on handling. It doesn't take much road irregularity to cause very noticeable cowl shake. This one issue strikes the BMW off my list of great drivers cars. The M Coupe on the other hand...

The M Roadster is what I was going to buy back in '01, but BMW didn't want to deal so I ordered my S the next day. I am glad BMW was so snobby!!

Test drove a base Boxster in 2003...best steering feel I've ever experienced. The $49k price killed the deal.
Also drove a 2002 M Roadster...BMW company car. Phoenix Gold. It would have cost me an additional $20k after trading in the S2000...I didn't think it was $20k better, but that S54 engine was awesome.

Kinda freaky since I would want to run it @ the Dragon at least 4-6 times a year. The S2000 ended up being a better choice for me dispite the power advantage of the M.
