Did you notice the 'as tested' price of the Shelby GT?
---------->>>>.$38,970
If that doesn't put you on or near a Corvette (or 335ii) I don't know what.

Didn't Top Gear recommend the RX8 over the 350z? I think the RX8 is an awesome car except for the fuel economy.

If the RX-8 had the 263hp turbo 2.3, I'd have bought one instead of the S. But then I guess it wouldn't have been an RX-8...
Great car, great suspension. I love the idea of the rotary, but not-god-awful-fast + god-awful-thirsty = no sale.

RX-8 matched an M3's lap time too on the Top Gear test track. Unless I am mistaken...
The RX-8 is one of the best handling 4dr cars you can buy in its price range. Sure it doesn't get good gas mileage and isn't too reliable but I think its a great all around car if you need a car thats fun to drive and has more room than an S2K.

I don't get all the 350Z bashing. The Z is clearly faster in the straights, with the sports pack the Z can handle just as well if not better than the RX-8 which understeers a lot.
I've driven all 4 cars and my preference would go to the RX-8 simply because I have a thing for lightweight high-reving cars, but if I was only into track times the Z would be 1st choice easily.

The Rx8 is a hardtop, 4 seat version of the S2000 in that it is light with a peaky engine, and handles quite well.
The 350Z was my second choice of cars when I took a look in 04' Whoever said the interior is even OK I have to laugh at. The plastic is ridiculously cheap, and the interior is several steps below OK, if you gauge the S2000 & RX8 interior as OK. Also it was a good bit heavier than the other two cars and handles as such. It's the Japanese Mustang.
The Mustang is a mustang. I had a 2001. The brakes were sub par, the handling was sub par, the interior fit & finish were mediocre at best, and the reliability of the car was sub par. As long as you buy aftermarket brakes, suspension, engine parts, etc then you are OK. Out of the box it is crap.
Haven't driven the new Audi TT yet (I don't think anybody has)
If the only things that matters is 0-60 or lap times than the the RX8 won't be your choice, but like an S2000 sometimes their are supreme rewards that go beyond the acceleration #'s.

the vert 350z definilty has never impressed me. Every time i have test driven 350z it has ALWAYS been vert then coupe back to back.. the 350z Coupe is Noticably faster than the vert.
I can say the 350z coupe is a fun car. I can see it with a bit of suspension work and some mods and you would have one hell of a car.
