That motor is the 20B, which was never in an RX7 or the RX8. It was put in the Cosmo which was only an automatic in Japan, never imported to the US.
The motor (20B) is a 3 rotor, turbocharged engine. The RX8's motor, like the RX7 before it, is a 2 rotor.

I read about this car over on the RX-8 site, they ran it against an 800 hp 911 TT. Although I don't know if the results were ever posted. This thing must be a beast though.
