Default $6000 brake pads!

Anyone skim thru the latest issue of Car and Driver? In it, there's a full test on the new Enzo and they state the brake pads are $6000 for carbon-ceramic pads and $24,000 for the rotors. It gets better, the Enzo consumes a special Shell 10W-60 synthetic oil costing about $60 a quart. That comes out to about $732 per oil change. The factory will only warranty the engine if you use this stuff, so might not want to take chances on a $200,000 engine.

Yes, all prices above are in US $'s

If you can afford the Enzo, and afford to track it (I'm assuming this being the only reason for replacement pads/rotors), you can afford the $30k brakes. If not, you shouldn't be playing with the big boys.

I saw that article the guy is like 77 years old. I want a granddaddy like that! He tracks it very often it said. And drives it on the street quite a bit too.
