to be honest i dont have data to back in up that 3rd is faster than 2nd in the bowl
i should definitely log both of them next time
to me i tend to stay off 2nd unless i have to
i think 3rd is faster becuz u can go into the bowl faster, 2nd tend to over-slow for ap2
my trick is brake early, big trail brake rotation, and full throttle as soon as the car turns in
i guess using 3rd requires a bit more control over front grip where most s2k drivers including me tend to focus soley on the rear feeling
however if u lift using 3rd ur screwed cuz ur now out of vtec (well technically u can still kick clutch at this moment)
my way will understeer like crazy if i over speed into it like how i did following jim in my video of last dec s2kc final round
but if i can get the job done right you actually dont need to brake too much for the bowl
try focusing on the momentum/ balance of the car full throlle 3rd instead of fighting the power over in 2nd would be my recommendation
i know 2nd feels more stable for a lot of ppl cuz the higher torque output therefore more confidence to push hence the higher top speed
but im almost certain that taking bowl in 3rd is faster in ap2 even w/o data

Alex: Yeah I will continue using 3rd in the bowl. I like it much more, and your technique turning into the bowl sounds a bit like mine

Mike: You made some serious power with your exhaust and tune! (I just looked at it on a pc not my phone) And the power band improved dramatically, with great increases throughout.

Brad: That's awesome you got 1:29.0! You're movin! I don't think I'll be giving you any more suggestions What are your mods again? And how do you have your harness installed with your factory roll hoops in place haha?
