is it still ok I had an exhaust shop make my single exhaust from the cat back? Its a straight exhaust with no resonators, but Im still using my cat. Im still ok right? Its loud, but ok as far as pollution laws go right?
what do u mean 'is it ok?' the mufflers/resonator is there to reduce noise, not prevent pollution..

how can a cop bust you for not having a cat, if you still have it on?? you answered your own question.

r_duff answered this already anyways: " what do u mean 'is it ok?' the mufflers/resonator is there to reduce noise, not prevent pollution.."

you can only be busted "severely" as you say for messing with the pollution control device, the catalytic converter, which is still on your vehicle.

Im talkin about not having any chambers before the muffler, like how our stock exhaust are. The areas between the cat and canister.

the most you can probably get busted for on that is a fix it ticket or noise

again, it is not the cat, so it is not a big deal. i think you are getting too worried for no reason. i have a test pipe / no cat and i am not half as worried as you are ..

if you are going to be that paranoid, you are probably best to just go back to stock, or you will get caught or give yourself away if pulled over
