Wow a 2 point comeback by the US. Awsome! I think we were robbed by that offsides call, but whatever a 2point tie is better than a loss.
I feel emotionally drained by that match and its only 9am

^^ x 1,000,000. While I'm happy we came back to tie.. we get one of those refs who views himself as bigger than the game itself and starts blowing the whistle when we he sees fit.. terrible. Now we lost Findley for the Algeria match. Hopefully Hercules Gomez or Edson Buddle will pick him up in the next game.

i agree with you. if US plays like they did in the 2nd half for the rest of the tourney, we're gonna see good things.

at least england and algeria tied 0-0. that's good for us.
we're up on goals so that's good for the tie breaker in the event of more draws or similar outcomes for the US and England in their next games.
the good news is algeria is probably the weakest team in the group...we play them next. if the US plays like the did in the second half they won't be stopped.
slovenia beat algeria, and in my mind we certainly beat slovenia. I think US is the better team of the matchup against algeria....but they're going to need to play like the better team. A win would almost seal the deal to move on.

scores for group C: ( remember a win is 3 pts, a draw is 1, a loss is 0 )
Slovenia 1-0-1--> 4 pts
USA 0-0-2 -->2 pts
England 0-0-2 -->2 pt
Algerian 0-1-1 -->1 pt
Here are the tiebreakers if England, Slovenia and the U.S. are tied on points:
1. Goal difference resulting from group play
2. Greater number of goals scored
If the teams are still tied after that, then FIFA moves on to this added set of tiebreakers:
1. Greatest number of points obtained in the group matches between
the teams concerned
2. Goal difference resulting from the group matches between the
teams concerned
3. Greater number of goals scored in all group matches between the
teams concerned
4. Drawing of lots by the FIFA Organizing Committee
In the above scenario, the decision would likely be most goals scored in competition among the tied teams.
So, if Slovenia and England play to a 0-0 draw, the U.S. (3 total goals scored against England and Slovenia) and Slovenia (3 goals) would go through. England would have only one goal to its name. If the teams played to a 3-3 draw, Slovenia (5 goals) and England (4 goals) would advance. If the teams draw 2-2, Slovenia (4 goals) would go through and FIFA would draw lots for the second spot between England and the U.S.
If England draws tonight:
* The U.S. qualifies with a win over Algeria combined with a Slovenia loss or an England loss.
* If Slovenia and England draw next week, the U.S. would go through with a win over Algeria.
* If Slovenia and England draw at 1-1 or 0-0, the U.S. would go through with a draw against Algeria.
