Default Why are my pictures coming out pixely?

Ok got a quick question. When I take pictures with my canon S500 the pictures come out great on the lcd, but when I transfer them to my computer, they come out pixely. I have tried uploading the pictures both by the software that came with the camera, and just uploading directly. Both methods produce pictures that are poor in quality. I have tried every setting on the camera, and even on the highest settings, the pictures still come out pixely. What can I do to solve this problem?

are you viewing the actual pixel size, if not, the program will interpolate the image if it is not 100%. especially if you are viewing a smaller image at like 300%. when you view it on a small lcd on the camera, it will be hard to notice any pixelation cuz it is so small of a display. look for an option to view at 100% or actual size, that is what the picture REALLY looks like. but if it is super pixelated, show an example so i have an idea of how bad it is and maybe make a better assesment.

I have the canon SD10 and mine uploads fine. Only thing I can think is maybe ur not focusing on the pictures properly when u take the pictures. There is another thing i think that may be the problem is maybe u have the focus on very close, that little flower image setting, i dont remember what its called.

I used to have the same problem. It was because i had the flash off, and when it is off you have to have a steady hand or a tripod to use to have quality pics, otherwise you will get pixilated images.

Yea I pretty much thougth of everything that I could do to resolve the problem. I have used my tripod, i have set the camera on every single setting and they still come out like crap. Ill send you pics when I upload them. I dont think the pictures will help much though. They just look pixelated. Here are some examples of other people's pictures with the same camera http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/customer-...index=0#gallery scroll down.

This is a real good picture of what I'm talking about.
I took the picture in auto setting and on the highest resolution.

its cause your resolution is huge. i set my resolution to the smallest. better quality. make sure you change your settings to the best quality. there are 3 options. best, medium, bad. these settings are symbolized by a 1/4 pie of a circle (kinda looks like a triangle w/ a slightly rounded side".

i dont think it is because of the size, because even at a much smaller size, the pictures still come out pixely. i just posted a larger picture to show how pixelated it really is

please check your quality settings. i have a canon s200 and the settings are exactly the same. my pictures come out better than that. i highly doubt it is a product problem. i would read through the manual.

also, bigger the picture, lesser the quality because it requires more pixels to cover the picture.
