Time to make the final decisions for the caravan to Phoenix. This is the list I have so far, so please confirm that you can make it.

1. ronblanford
2. vtec914
3. S2000Patrick
4. 9KTACH
5. DragonHeart

I don't see vtec914 and DragonHeart on the signup list for Sunday brunch.

We can either meet as I suggested and leave Santa Ysabel at 8:30, or S2000Patrick and DragonHeart can join up with us in Escondido an hour earlier.

Any other ideas?

I was actually planning on meeting you guys in Santa Ysabel, but driving to Escondido is more direct and I think faster, (not taking into account traffic). Once traffic is factored in I'm not sure which way would be faster. I know traffic in the Oceanside area is awful all the time I just don't know how much worse it is at 7:00-7:30 am going south. Any suggestions?

I plan to take the 78 to Santa Ysabel from escondido. Travel time for the 40 miles trip to Santa Ysabel will be approx. 45-60 min.

From Torrance, I'm assuming you will take the route below to Santa Ysabel as suggested by mapquest. Traffic on the 78 going east is moderately heavy around the San Marcos and near the I15 conjunction around 7-7:30am.. As long as you stay on the 78 going through escondido (and not get on the 15S) to Santa Ysabel, it will be another 45-60 min trip. I would allow myself at least 3 good hours factoring in for traffic. That means you would need to leave NLT 5:30am to get to Santa Ysabel by 8:30am. Hope this help.

- 405S>5S>78W
- Take the CENTRE CITY PARKWAY exit. <0.1 miles
- Take the CENTRE CITY PKWY SOUTH ramp. 0.2 miles
- Merge onto N CENTRE CITY PKWY. 2.0 miles
- Turn LEFT onto W FELICITA AVE. 0.6 miles
- W FELICITA AVE becomes E 17TH AVE. 0.6 miles
-Turn RIGHT onto SAN PASQUAL VALLEY RD/CA-78. Continue to follow CA-78. 15.0 miles
-Turn LEFT onto MAIN ST/CA-78. Continue to follow CA-78
- End at Santa Ysabel, CA US

Total Est. Time: 2 hours, 29 minutes Total Est. Distance: 134.24 miles

Patrick,
Actually if we're going to meet in Santa Ysabel you might be better off taking the 91 to I-15, then 79 south from Temecula. You should be going against traffic most of the way.

I forgot about the Friday a.m. traffic around Escondido, so that was probably not the best suggestion.

91 to I-15 to 79, (Santa Ysabel). I think I still have your cell # so I can keep you updated in the morning on our arrival time.

See you Friday

Patrick
When you get to Santa Ysabel and hit Hwy 78, turn right. Dudley's is half a block down on the right side.

Heads up! It just occurred to me that I don't believe there is a gas station in Santa Ysabel. Make sure you get there with at least half a tank, because the next stop is 80 miles away in Brawley.
