Hey all, Phonix rush hour traffic is horrible. Let's try to arrive at the hotel no latter than 3:30 or 4:00PM.

Wow, a lot of posts on this topic since I went AWOL on Wednesday. I was admitted to the hospital and had an emergency appendectomy Wednesday night. Apparently they couldn't find my appendix so they did some exploring, which meant a couple of large incisions and a stay in ICU. Came home home yesterday. I should be good to go for this trip though.

The trip over route is going to depend on how chipper I feel by then. Shouldn't be a problem though. I agree with Ron I would rather leave earlier and arrive no later than 3:30 pm. It will also give us a chance to relax a little prior to the out-of-towner dinner Friday night

I think we should be okay with an 8:30 departure from Santa Ysabel. One reason I wanted to leave then is that Dudley's opens at 8:00 and that would give time for a restroom break before beginning the first long leg of the journey. I think we can beat the MapQuest estimates by a good deal, so we should arrive significantly before 4:30, especially if we don't dally over lunch. But if we get to Gila Bend and the time is late, we can decide then whether to choose the shorter route up AZ-85.
