It's funny that the people who vote democrat for higher taxes don't send in an extra amount to the irs to help pay off the debt.

Yea, I completely agree. Most people would just save it and pay their CC's.
Thinking deeper, paying off CC's is also a good thing for the country as the debts are lower.

Citicorp is down the tubes too. I hope they go down hard, so I don't have to pay my student loans (which is NOT deductable)
