Where should I take a girl for dinner around here?
There's a girl that's got my eye and for whatever reason I'm in a position to set up an *actual* date for once So the criteria for a dinner date location are:
Someplace that's suitable for a 1st dinner date (we've had 1 lunch "date") -- not too extravagant/expensive.
Someplace that affords a quiet dinner that leaves lots of room for talking -- this is very important.
Someplace with a calm/positive/quaint atmosphere
Someplace around here (OC/LB area is preferred). Since it's our 1st dinner date, I don't want to have a long chunk of time spent in the car just to get there. She is in Los Alamitos, so that's where I would pick her up.
Any suggestions for a fool like me? THanks!!

How about Oysters in Corona Del Mar!
It might be a bit pricey. However, the quality of the food is unbeatable at any price,
the menu is diverse, the setting is intimate without being too dark, they have a great
bar, and there's plenty around in the general area to do after dinner.
I love this restaurant!

If you like Japanese food, try Shiki in Orange, 55 & Katella.
Marlana and I had our first date there, 23 years ago. (Ask me about it next time we get together; it's a good story!) The food's great, and you can get a booth in the back where it should be pretty quiet.

Since you're close to Irvine, try out that new Japanese place at the Spectrum. I can't remember the name off the top of my head but it's right next to Dave & Busters.. which incidentally is also a nice place to take her since they're right next to each other.
