Where to change valve retainers?
Hello s2ki, i need some help finding a shop that can change my ap1 valve retainers to the ap2 valve retainers. Does anyone know of a shop swaps valve retainers? i need to get mine changed.

the ap1 retainers just aren't as strong as the ap2 ones. and many times the cracks can't be seen very well just by visual inspection from the top.
if you track and ap1 or run it hard, it makes sense to upgrade to the ap2 retainers.

Tony Fuch or Evasive would be a good bet. Depends on where you're located which one is closer.
Tony Fuch is in the SFV and Evasive is in La Puente.

So you wouldn't even consider doing it yourself? I did the valve adjustment myself and didn't find it that bad. I'm hoping to find an ap2 valve cover and change both retainers and VC at the same time.

I do the valve jobs myself and now having taken the whole top end apart..... really wasn't that hard at all. I would do the work myself personally at this point. I might have been nervous prior though.
Curious bout ti valve retainers wearing..... I know of course they will wear faster but I've considered them, wonder how much faster they'd wear because the added protection would be nice to have.
