One last thing. Be prepared to spend about $500-900 for a good gun.

In San Bernardino there is a shooting range with a gun store. You can rent any gun you like there to help you decide which one feels "natural" in your tiny little hands. After you buy your gun there, you can use it at the range and to help you leave San Bernardino as well.
Do you know if they have an FN five seven for rent?

lmk if you want a gun. I can probably get it cheaper.. Military law enforcement price..give me a model and caliber... I have a crazy ass .45 ultra compact para warthog.. Double stack 10 round 3 1/4 inch barrel.. Maybe I will bring it to the next meet..

For home protection, a shotgun with buckshot is a great choice. If you have many people in the house birdshot is probably a better choice, however you are less likely to kill the intruder.

my shotgun.

I have a Glock 19 I might consider selling. Might get a new .303 rifle so the extra funds might be nice. I think a Sig 229 or even a 226 might be a good choice. very easy to shoot and has a great feel.

Guns are very personal, you need to try many out before you find one that feels right. What others may like may not work for you.

Rent or borrow several before you decide what feels right and what you think you can rely on in a crisis.

Example , I'm not a revolver fan but have many, up to a Smith & Wesson 500 I use to hunt bear. For home protection I guess I would rely on a 357 magnum I have with some hot loads ( I make my own bullets) and some special hollow points that are designed to work with someone wearing protection
To quote that stupid line in the movie "I'm a f_cking surgeon with this gun". Plus revolvers won't jam, they may misfire but you simply advance to the next round unlike a round that jams during ejection.

Lastly what neighborhood do you live in that requires a firearm for protection? What type of training do you plan on getting to learn how to use a firearm during a attack? It's like someone who goes to learn Martial Arts in a dojo and finds out a street fight is nothing like dojo training.

Good luck on your choice.
