what's with socal drivers in rain
are people around here better drivers than I think?
I spent lunch hour watching 90+ mph trucks fly by on the freeway =P
and this is while it was going pretty well so there wasn't all too hot visibility.
on a side note I got one of those splashes from the next lane that seems to displace a barrel of water on your windshield. I was tempted to pace just for the effect.

The problem with driving 90mph in the rain is that you cannot stop or slow down for the morons doing 5mph .. And you can't switch lanes because you'll hydroplane and spinout causing some massive wreck..
Then I'll show up on the Squad and laugh my ass off the whole time I'm cutting you outta your mangled vehicle.

Traction can be found in the rain if you where to look for it. Good tread on your tires and read the conditions. I have a poster of myself from a few years ago road-racing my superbike at Sears Point now Infineon Raceway with the back tire off the pavement braking hard into turn 11 .My girlfriend at the time now my wife took the shot .Grip is out there just read the road . Be smooth on the throttle ,steering ,brakes. Plus in the rain it's a blast to slide the car around . Most people can't be bothered to read the road and those are the ones that cause wrecks.

I agree with WFO about knowing how to read the road (driving where water has been displaced by the guy in front of me always feels good, but that's an old trick), but nothing compares with having a good set of tires.
Half worn S0-2s will move very littlewater, and as water doesn't compress, well, you're not on the asphalt. :-)
I really like the G-Force TA KDWs for rain and dry- an excellent combo, IMHO.
