Just got back from HK Cafe - not bad! I still prefer Tasty Garden, but still would recommend it. It's on Las Tunas just east of Baldwin.

Golden Deli, 815 West Las Tunas Drive, San Gabriel. Great Pho. We had a couple of meets there a long time ago.

Have you been to La Fondue Bourguignonne in Sherman Oaks? That is "different" if you're not a big Fondue eater. It's very tasty. Don't wear good clothes because they will all smell like fondue at the end of the evening.

La Fondue Bourguignonne
13359 Ventura Blvd
Sherman Oaks, CA 91423-3912
(818) 501-0181
Cross Street: Dixie Canyon Avenue

I once ate at an Ethiopian restaurant in Arizona, and it was amazing. I've never been to one in Socal, but I'm sure you could find a good one on Fairfax between Olympic & Pico. Very different, but really good stuff.
